Boston Bruins Stadium Series Walk-In Outfits: A Bite of Boston's History (2026)

The Bruins' Walk-In Outfits for the Stadium Series: A Bite of Boston's History

The Boston Bruins are gearing up for an exciting outdoor game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Raymond James Stadium, and their walk-in outfits are a testament to their rich history and Boston's unique culture. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at how the team came together to create these memorable costumes.

A Pirate-Themed Revolution

The Bruins' creative team, led by Morgan Geekie, Nikita Zadorov, Charlie McAvoy, and David Pastrnak, drew inspiration from the Gasparilla Pirate Fest in Tampa. However, they wanted to add a Boston twist, and that's when the American Revolution came into play. The team envisioned a pirate-themed event, but with a historical Boston spin.

Eric Propp, the manager of the rental department at Boston Costume, was thrilled to be part of this project. With over 20 years of living in Boston and a lifelong Bruins fan, he understood the significance of merging sports and history.

Costume Creation: A Collaborative Effort

Boston Costume is renowned for its high-quality, realistic costumes, and Propp ensured the team had a wide range of options. From colonial outfits to wigs and tricorn hats, he sourced and acquired pieces from various sources, including other costume companies that had gone out of business. The challenge was to cater to the entire 23-man roster, and Propp's extensive stock of colonial costumes proved invaluable.

The players embraced the idea, and their enthusiasm made the process easier. Zadorov's choice of a long, white-curls wig and colonial-inspired outfit showcased his dedication to the theme. The team also drew inspiration from the New England Patriots, who were competing in the Super Bowl at the time, adding a unique twist to their costumes.

A Fun and Historical Experience

The Stadium Series provided an opportunity for the Bruins to have fun and celebrate their city's history. The costumes varied, from war-ready soldiers to politicians from the 16th century, each representing a different aspect of Boston's past. Despite the Florida setting, the team stayed true to their roots, making it a memorable experience for both the players and the fans.

Geekie, who opted for a natural look, expressed his excitement about the event, highlighting the importance of living up to Boston's costume legacy. Propp's hard work and attention to detail will forever be etched in the team's memory, as they prepare to take on the Lightning in style.
